Vocational Scenario or Context You have been working in an accountancy firm as a financial trainee officer for the last six months. Trainee positions are an important stepping-stone in accountancy and finance careers, and the experience gained will help towards professional qualification and develop abilities to analyse and present data, make decisions, and manage time effectively – both as part of a team and on your own.

As a financial Trainee, you have been given case study data from your manager finance with data on a partnership and a non-profit making business along with manufacturing businesses to work with.

Task 1
With reference to Annex 1, Your first task is to show your knowledge of different types of businesses and their capital structure, in particular partnerships and non-profit-making businesses by writing a magazine article. This article should show your independent research and knowledge, and be in three parts.

The introduction must include examples of differing types of businesses and explain and assess the merits and drawbacks of the:
● ownership
● capital structure
● legal requirements

The body of the article must describe the activities of each of these businesses.

The article must conclude with an evaluation and justification of how suitable the different types of business are for each of the given business activities.
