Thesis:
Firestopping and Fireproofing are both critical pieces in construction, but both come with their own unique advantages and disadvantages which are essential to keep properties, personnel and equipment protected in case of a fire. In this research I intend to compare and contrast the benefits of both firestopping and fireproofing. This research will cover what they are and why they are important. I will also cover the importance of both, and when they are necessary. I will cover the different methods associated with both, and the applicable legal and building regulations that govern them.
