Write an essay about aging and health
Students will have the opportunity to write 2 paper (4-pages) each on one of the topics discussed
in class. There will be specific dates for submitting each formal paper and the revisions.
The formal papers should discuss the following items:
o A brief background of the topic/film/documentary. (Do not retell the story)
o What issue/s does the documentary address that are parallel to this course
o How does the documentary help or hinder addressing the issue (for example, does
the documentary reinforce negative stereotypes or does it try to break negative
stereotypes of the elderly???)
o What recommendations would you provide to improve the issue being
presented/discussed in the film/documentary
