Background:
James and Jeremy Dynamo are brothers who have been doing construction projects to earn additional income for the past five years. During this time their clientele has grown which means that they must engage more employees to be able to meet project demands. Presently they have a team of technicians who work with them whenever they have jobs but they now plan to add two more technicians. Recently, the brothers made the decision to make the business a formal entity and have now decided to make the team of technicians a permanent part of their business – Dynamos Construction Company. There are two (2) Plumbers, two (2) Electricians one (1) Mason and his two (2) untrained helpers and one (1) Carpenter. They also plan to hire (one) Tile Layer and another untrained helper.
The Problem:
Although the business is small, the owners of the company want to ensure that the business is structured correctly from day one. This means that a well structured human resource management system must be implemented.
Requirements:
Therefore, as the manager for this project, your task is to design a detailed plan that would identify and explain basic components of HR function for this company. Your plan should also address in detail the recruitment, selection and orientation processes for the business and you must construct a compensation and benefits plan.
