This research paper is intended to be both fun and educational watch Wall Street (1987).
Compare and contrast the business concepts, especially managerial aspects, and themes portrayed with the
material in our text or any ‘real’ organization you are familiar with or your personal experiences. Discuss what
you find similar, different, and surprising/interesting. Use course concepts to defend your position for an
‘educated’ response. Be as creative as possible, while at the same time, weave together concepts related to
major themes in the class such as leadership, employee selection and socialization, ethics, motivation and
rewards, interpersonal influence, group dynamics, organizational change, innovation, and organizational
culture.
Submit a 5-6 page paper discussing the primary theme(s) in different scenes and incorporating several key
concepts from our discussions and text which are highlighted in the film. Use section headers to divide key
topics/ideas.
Watch the movie provided and focus on at least 3 different major topics covered in our text. Select and analyze
various scenes that are good representations of the concept. Use section heading throughout to separate key
areas. Including various characters and their strategies, were their styles beneficial or detrimental, did their
strategies change over the course of the movie, did they express different traits depending on the environment
or with different characters.
Watch the film and important scenes multiple times, diagnose the situations, list various problems and
variables, discuss various managerial issues, look for opportunities to apply concepts analytical tools, support
opinions with well-reasoned arguments and numerical evidence from the film, include charts/graphs, have
several recommendations regarding the situation/dilemma, establish an action plan based on your
recommendations.
