Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder that has a pervasive pattern of grandiose sense of self importance, which may be manifest as an exaggerated or unrealistic sense of superiority, value, or capability ( Criterion 1). An individual has to have at least 5 out of 9 traits to be a narcissist.
