  1. Explain the meaning of the following terms:
    a. Acid – an acid is defined as a substance that gives hydrogen ion (H + -) or a hydronium ion
    (H 3 O + -) when dissolved in water.
    b. Base – A base is defined as a substance that gives hydroxide ion (OH – -) when dissolved in
    water. Bases accepts protons
    c. Indicator – – could be a weak acid or a weak base that exhibits a color change as the concentration of hydrogen or hydroxide ions changes in a solution
    d. Natural indicator – it is a naturally occurring substance that can be used to determine PH of
    another substance
