Below is a photograph for you to analyze. I listed the aspects you need to consider before any writing. It is a good exercise to go through each number on my list so you will have enough information to write your analysis. You just need to write 3 paragraphs:
1) Introduce the image, include descriptions (foreground, mid ground, background), give context (time period, weather, social, economical, global events, etc…
2) Analyze the image using formal elements, composition, content, camera angle, etc…
3) This is a fun one to interpret. Look at the setting and the children’s clothes. Think in context of the time period, the photographer’s intention. What do you think is happening? Imaging what might have happened before and after the photograph. You can’t go wrong.
