Write a 2 paragraph letter to the deaf couple in the film, convincing them to either get the cochlear implant for their five-year old daughter Heather or not get it. Though you will be writing a letter, you should still follow the expository essay format, creating an introduction, a thesis, and body paragraphs that attempt to convince the parents. Keeping that in mind, you should pay particular attention to your audience— the deaf parents—so that the essay/letter is directed to them and their particular situation, their predisposed feelings, which you will learn from watching the film closely. just to make sure it’s a letter directly to Heather’s parents, if I can get the moments of the film mentioned that would be great.
