Complete a competitive grant proposal to the foundation of your choice for the organization and program of your choice. You will present the case for support and utilize your organization’s capacity to meet the needs of your audience. Submit your completed grant proposal for your chosen nonprofit organization and program. If your grant does not have a formal application, use the Associated Grantmakers common application located on the course website. When you submit the proposal, attach a copy of the funding guidelines you used. Common guidelines may include (but are not limited to): a brief executive summary of the project including its major goals and how the program ‘fits’ with the foundation’s guidelines and mission; case materials; the grant narrative outlining why the organization should pursue this project, including what assets the organization brings to the table that will ensure a successful project and why it is important to the organization; an implementation plan with key staff and institutional resources; program or initiative budget; proposed performance measures and evaluation criteria for the project. The proposal package should be submitted with a cover letter to the foundation requesting funding. All narrative documents and attachments should be submitted as if they would be submitted to the foundation.
