Now that you’ve had a chance to read the lecturettes and play and visit the various assigned websites, it’s time to discuss the various themes you’ve uncovered and connect them to some of the dramatic conventions you’ve discovered. Remember, theme is the central idea the playwright is trying to get us to see throughout all the elements of the work. In other words, what’s his point? Why do WE care? What do WE learn?
