Select one of the workers (one of the three drawers) and time how long it takes them, on average, to complete the tasks for each card. Include this time in your discussion board as the final detail in your post – put the worker number (or what tasks they are completing) and the time you calculated.
1) How can we measure the performance of our process shown in the video? (In other words, what units of measure could we use to determine if this group of students performed better than a second group of students?)
2) What do you suggest we do to improve the performance of the process without adding more workers (i.e. only using the three workers currently constructing the product, not including the supplier of the QC)? Explain how this change will improve performance. – i.e. what is the inefficiency or problem you observed and how will this specific suggestion improve performance? Attention will be placed on your explanation of the problem and how your suggestion will address this problem and improve performance.
3) What might we need to consider before making the suggested change? In other words, might the suggested change have any potential negative consequences, and if so, what are these potential consequences?
