Importance – Discuss why this artist’s work is (or is not) important. Should this artist be a Giant? Should this artwork be a masterpiece?
Mechanics – Slides are well prepared, easy to read, and fit subject matter and discussion. containing 5–10 minutes of content to be able to present
When producing your PowerPoint Presentation, ensure that you use high contrast colors for text; use the heading hierarchy for easy tabbing; provide alternate tags for images and provide a word document transcript.
Students are asked to provide a slide presentation that will answer the following:
- Who is your artist and/or artifact? What is the date of the artifact?
- Briefly describe this artist’s context and how this influences the creation of the artwork. (This should include the birth and death dates of the artist.)
- Briefly discuss the elements of the artifact and the purpose of this work. Give one interesting fact about the artwork.
- Briefly explain why this artist’s work is essential or important. Is your topic a giant of the arts? Is this artifact a masterpiece?
- List your sources.
Each presentation should contain 8-10 slides. Use at least three sources. There will be plenty of information on your artist; your job will be to present the essential information on this author.
