The three attributes chosen to map the leading competitors of Tesla against are price, range, and charging time. I have also identified my product’s POD and the target market. The product is positioned as the most affordable and accessible electric vehicle. The target market is consumers interested in electric cars but is put off by the high price tags. The term “point of difference” refers to a product or service’s characteristics distinguishing it from the competition (Belo 7). Differentiation refers to how a company’s goods or services differentiate itself from its competitors (Shao, wang, and Yang 5). Indicators of the success of the POD would include an increase in customer benefit and improved brand loyalty. Therefore, the identified point of difference for Tesla is safety coupled with affordability.

Draw a perceptual map plotting the positions of the leading competitors and your product/service along at
least three attributes (you may use Excel or other computer program or draw by hand) for the selected
target market. In real situations, computers based on statistical analysis of research data draw these maps.
This exercise represents a qualitative example only that is based on your own judgment. Make sure you
identify what is your Point-of Difference
