While an excellent answer always lives by its own rules, in general, your responses to each question should be at least 4 – 6 paragraphs in length. The entire exam should be typed, double-spaced (New Times Roman, 12pt font) and saved as one document. Your responses to the exam questions must be turned in online no later than 5:00pm Monday, December 17, 2018.
Question 1): The CSUN community is currently dealing with an unfortunate situation in which we have been confronted by the negative energy of symbols and the written word. With regard to our course content, please discuss at least three (3) examples of the use of visual imagery and/or written language as an expression of power or authority. For each, be sure to describe the specifics of the imagery/language used and explain the intended purpose as best we know/hypothesize/guess.
Question 2): Although various cultures throughout time and space have conceptualized and enacted different relationships between humans and other animals, it is clear that a wide variety of wild, domestic, and imaginary creatures have always played a central role in the development and expression of human culture in general. Please identify one wild, one domestic, and one imaginary animal/beast encountered in our text. In crafting your answer, be expansive in describing creatures in question and the context in which they are encountered. In other words, give the essential what, where, when, who, and why of each.
Question 3): In recent days, Danish photographer Andreas Hvid and a companion made headlines on account of intimate photographs taken of them while they were atop the Great Pyramid of Giza. Many in Egypt and beyond consider their actions to be disrespectful at the very least. As we have seen, monumental structures are an essential feature of complex ancient societies and continue to inspire all sorts of ideas and actions today. Please select at least three (3) major buildings/architectural sites covered in class materials and discuss in detail how the discovery and analysis of each has impacted our understanding of the culture with which they are associated.
