The insertion of human genes into microbes has the potential to cure many medical problems for people,
but what if these newly created microbes were ever released into the wild? What would happen? Would
human diseases now infect the new organisms? Would new diseases develop? Would diseases that were isolated to a specific species now be able to jump into humans? There are many ethical questions that come from the use of gene therapy, genetic engineering, and biotechnology.
