PROJECT BACKGROUND
As said from above, the project will focus on creating character designs with more visual
depth and content for a 3D animated short film by Indonesian students, for the
Indonesian people and the global audience. Implementing steps in the process that is
vital to be able to get information and visual references in relation to the culture. Methods
to visually implement the culture into the character designs without having them looked
forced in and blending them according to the story’s flow and fitting for the target
audience which is aimed towards children at the age of 10-14 for the reason that cartoonstyled animations are most popular in young children.
HYPOTHESES STATEMENT
“Character design for a 3D animation based on Indonesian folktale has to have visual
aspects from said culture integrated into the design subliminally and straightforwardly.”
