A moral dilemma wherein one has to show a specific virtue or virtues
Each person owes a duty to himself or herself and to the world to study ethics and to engage in thoughtful debate about what is right, and what is wrong. It is this habit of thinking about and reflecting on ethics that will help you determine the right choices when faced with an ethical dilemma.
Articulate a moral dilemma wherein one has to show a specific virtue or virtues (it can be any virtue or virtues including honesty, courage, charity/generosity, compassion, etc.)
What is the moral dilemma about?
What virtue or virtues should be shown? (You are here selecting the best course of action)
Why is that virtue or those virtues to be shown?
How should the virtue or virtues be expressed, and why in that manner?
Apply Aristotle's golden mean to the dilemma.
Tell us how the dilemma involves conflict moral duties (loyalty to community versus to self, professional versus familial duties, national or personal obligations).
The dilemma must be a situation in which a choice has to be made.
When making this choice, Aristotle's golden mean comes into play; that is, finding a balance between two extreme points of view rather than choosing just one or the other. In this case, one could find an appropriate middle ground where both sides are respected; for example by negotiating a compromise that best serves both parties involved while still remaining loyal to each other’s needs and expectations. Such an approach would involve listening carefully to all sides of the argument before coming up with a decision - something everyone should strive for since it will ultimately make resolution easier (hopefully) no matter how difficult issue being dealt might be ;)
Ultimately though as stated earlier there always conflict moral duties here i.e., loyalty self versus community/family so depending on situation at hand either party could take precedence over another – but only provided respect & consideration given all entities involved during process otherwise further complications arise from excluding certain voices out discussion which should avoided course possible! All said done then I feel strongly about demonstrating virtue(s) mentioned above because important establish firm foundation upon which resolve any type ethical quandary successfully especially ones involving multiple individuals weighing in opinion :)
