A theory of justice and estranged labor

Discuss how Marx analysis of the estrangement of labor (and lost species-being potential) through the wage contract makes appear untenable the Lockean thought that (social) contract and protection of private property serve as core or essential ways of understanding a conception of (natural/human) rights and the purpose of political organization. Next, discuss how the original position (a theory of justice, see secs 4, 24, 25) is used by Rawls: 1)to capture commitments to individual rights and Kantian enlightenment respect, and 2) also shows the limits of private property as a paradigm (end of sec 2, 36, 42) for a (proper/adequate) rights focus.
