Once you locate a funding agency that has a request for proposals, the next step is to analyze it on multiple levels to be sure it fits
your mission, and if it does, you are able to submit the best proposal possible.
This 2-part In-Class Exercise (ICE) is designed to give you experience in analyzing Requests for Applications (RFAs) or Request for Proposals (RFPs). Some agencies use the term RFA while others use RFP.
Given a RFA/RFP, students will be able to analyze the request (in writing), taking into account the major considerations described by Karsh and Fox.
Part I asks you to analyze an organization’s mission and project and then analyze a foundations’ RFA.
Part II asks your group to find and analyze an appropriate RFA yourselves.
