Anecdotes

Focus should not be on yourself. You are the outsider, spectator, and participant-observer.

  1. Develop ideas about issue or person by using anecdotes and showing but not too much telling.
  2. Go "undercover" and describe the people and situations.
  3. You should still tell a good story, with a point about prison, racism, immigrant labor, the homeless, drug abuse, unusual food culture.
