By implementing these practices, nurses can enhance the quality of care they provide, promote patient safety, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Effective Communication Effective communication is a fundamental aspect of nursing practice that positively impacts patient outcomes. Research by Street et al. (2013) emphasizes the importance of clear and concise communication between healthcare providers and patients. Using standardized communication tools, such as SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation), helps enhance communication and reduce errors.
