This essay shall be a book review that covers 3 main points:
1.) What is the author's purpose and goals that he has in writing this book. i.e.) What is the author trying to accomplish?
Why is this book written? The Sacrament of Confirmation (theology, history, rites, traditions, etc.)
2.) Why am I reading this book? What promises does the author make to the reader? Does he do a great/good/adequate/poor/etc. job in leading the reader to an understanding of what he sets out to do in this book? What are the main ideas that the reader will come away knowing/understanding because they have read this book (is this adequate/good OR does the author fall short… explain)
3.) Critique:
Was the author succesful? What points does he do a good job with? Favourite points? Connections to the present day or my life?
Was the author unable to deliver what he set out to do? What do I question? Disagree? Is their issues brought up that could be explored further?
