Summarize and critique three columns. I have chosen the first one for you (Arkansas Works …”). Now you choose from any two of the seven remaining columns in this file that you find noteworthy. After an introductory paragraph identifying which three columns you are critiquing, write a summary of each column. Devote at least one paragraph to each piece. Be thorough. Assume the reader knows nothing about the material. Then compare and contrast the columns, explaining each one’s strengths and weaknesses. (Think back on what you read about opinion writing in the Assignment 2 handouts.) Provide specifics. If you think one column is far superior to the others, explain why. If you think one stinks, do not simply say it stinks, cite examples of what smells bad and tell me why.
