In terms of communication skills, a successful special events manager needs excellent interpersonal skills as they will be interacting with multiple stakeholders both internally (e.g., colleagues or supervisors) as well as externally (e.g., vendors or clients). This requires having strong verbal communication abilities but also being able to read nonverbal cues in order gain insight into other people’s reactions/intentions; this skill is especially relevant when working with customers who may express dissatisfaction or have specific requests which need addressed quickly.
Finally, having problem-solving capabilities is essential for any special events manager because often times there are unexpected issues that arise which require quick decisions in order keep project progress from stalling out completely – such dilemmas can range from needing change venues last minute due bad weather sudden drop attendance rates . My self assessment of my own personal skills reveals that I possess many traits necessary for success in the role of special events manager.
