Competency development

This is an opportunity to share some of your growth and learning based on both your competency development and your work term experience. Based on your experience so far in your work term, and building from the thoughts you captured from the Module 1 learning activities and reflection, please share your observations about the following: Tell us about a specific example or situation where you were able to use one of the module 1 competencies during your work term? Which specific module 1 competency do you feel you could develop further? What steps might you take to help you achieve your goal? Summarize your reflections and the impact of your career plan.
While the use of self-reflection has been well utilized throughout my work term, there is still one module 1 competency which I feel could benefit from further development: leadership skills. As someone who often works independently or within small teams, developing strong leadership skills can be instrumental in helping me move forward with projects while also fostering teamwork between individuals working towards a common goal. To develop this skill set further, some steps that can taken include setting time aside each day for personal growth and development exercises (such as reading books or articles related to leadership), taking part in volunteer roles which require managerial tasks, or attending workshops focused specifically on building leadership capabilities. Overall, reflecting on my progress throughout this work term has helped bring into focus just how important having a career plan is when entering into any job search process. By having an understanding of what kind of position best suits your strengths and interests you are more likely to find success in gaining employment faster than if you were without direction or simply applying for positions at random. Additionally, having this clear outline allows for goals and objectives associated with each role attempted providing measurable markers through which growth can be tracked over time – allowing employers not only know your strengths but also see evidence backing them up too!

Sample Solution

I recently completed my first work term and was able to apply the competencies I had learned in Module 1 during the course of my experience. In particular, I used my knowledge of self-reflection to help me identify areas where I could improve and grow as a professional. During many of the projects I worked on, there were times when difficult decisions needed to be made or challenging conversations needed to be had. At these times, I found it very helpful to take a few moments for myself and reflect on both what was happening at that moment as well as how things might play out in different scenarios. This allowed me to come up with more creative solutions that better served both myself and those around me.
