Components of attitude

Describe the three components of attitude. Provide an example of when you may used these three components in your work.
The affective component refers to the emotional reaction we have towards something or someone. It is these emotions that allow us to form our attitudes quickly and easily without further thought or analysis. For instance, when working as a tutor for college students again, if there is one particular student who seems particularly motivated and eager to learn more about the material at hand it can give me an immediate feeling of enthusiasm which then leads me to develop more positive feelings towards helping them succeed in their studies. Finally, behavior represents how people act out their attitudes physically by engaging in behaviors related to that particular topic or situation often times reinforcing those same attitudes even further over time. In my role as a tutor for college students again I might demonstrate patience while going through tough concepts multiple times so they fully understand it; thereby showing my commitment toward helping them succeed which reinforces my positive attitude toward tutoring each time I do this type of behavior with other students too (in addition to increasing overall effectiveness).

The three components of attitude are cognitive, affective, and behavioral. The cognitive component is the thought process that contributes to attitude formation. This includes beliefs and opinions we have about a certain topic or subject matter. For example, when I work as a tutor for college students, I often need to form an opinion on their understanding of the material they are struggling with in order to better assist them. By forming this opinion based on my own knowledge and experience with the specific subject, I am using the cognitive component of attitude formation.
