Coronavirus: The Impact of Privilege and Equity

    Discuss your research findings and thoughts on Coronavirus and issues that have been illuminated around privilege AND equity. Guiding questions: You should address at least three of the guiding questions: • Has privilege impacted individuals’ access to COVID-19 test and/or treatment? • Describe equity issues associated with recent developments around Coronavirus (e.g., medical treatment, access to testing, who has been deemed essential). • Who was deemed “essential” and what are the implications? • Has economic class impacted how individuals have responded to the pandemic? • Which group or groups has the dominant voice as the pandemic unfolds? • What role has ageism and xenophobia played in the pandemic? • What are some of the messages from the media around privilege, equity and coronavirus?
