Creating a child

            We are going to begin creating a child, starting with a bit of their pre-natal development, their birth, and the beginnings of their physical development and health, their cognitive and language development and social emotional milestones from birth to 24 month. For this week’s posting you will: (1) Create your child, give them a birth date, name, provide a physical description, and some family history. Begin by describing a few details of their pre natal development and their birth experience. Reference Chapter 4. (2) You will need to decide how old your child is now (0-24 months.) Tell us about the development of the early reflexes, sensory capacities and motor development in this child…make it a story of development using and including the information in Chapter 4 & 5. (3) As you read the chapters, you will notice cultural influences within these developments, include this understanding in your story. We even have evidence of these influences in the prenatal stage, (4) Watch Annie Murphy’s video What Babies Learn Before They Are Born, if you haven't already, and use her example of a story. Your original post needs to provide lots of detail of this child and their early development. Of course, some of this is fictional, use your imagination and some of it is theory, use your book & course resources to provide a clear picture of early developmental experiences. (5). Describe the child's social and emotional development, including temperament and experiences with attachment using Chapter 6 for reference.
