The lab is to have the following:
31 Windows desktop computer systems (CPU, Keyboard, Mouse, Display) Each unit is to have a desk with chair, and units are to have a minimum of 16gb ram, Intel i7, 1Tb SSD, 24" display. One unit is for Teacher WS. The teacher workstation also needs appropriate standing desk, display switch, projector, and sound system. This lab can have multiple uses. During the day, it may be used by our students, but at night, it will be reserved for adult education. This is results from polling our general local population about what type of courses they would be interest in taking. The types of courses proposed are "Microsoft O365", "HTML", "Parental help:Teens and Social Media", "Cyber security awareness", and "Hacking".
Pitfalls are that our ISP (K12access.org) has our school network locked down to be compliant with FERPA rules, and will not permit all network traffic/internet access that this adult class may need. Since the students may also be using this room during the day, we can't remove all network precautions. Physical security and excessive room heat will be an issue too.
