Ethnocentrism is to view and judge other cultures by how they compare to one’s own. Cultural relativism is the sociological practice of viewing a culture from that culture’s perspective and values. Is it discriminatory to label cultural practices like burqas, child marriage, polygamy, or female genital mutilation/cutting as innately wrong?
