Assessment Details

As per the module descriptor this assessment brief covers both AE1 and AE2. AE1 will consist of an individual report which details the outcomes and contribution of their involvement in the project, as well as a continuous self-assessment though discussion and referencing the on-line diary which is to be included within the appendix section.

Students must also reflect on the group activities, acknowledging how the individual group members communicated and interacted.

AE2 will require the group to present their project, detailing the development of the activity as well as the final artefacts. Presentations will be conducted the week after the report submission

Summative Assessment Task
you must choose an area to study, given the available data you can access.
you should discuss what aspects you wish to study and what you plan to achieve. The activity will require you to conduct data analysis on a chosen domain. This can be something with potential social impact such as the environment, population distribution, wealth, health, education or international aspects.

For a local perspective you could look at data available from the ONS, Office of National Statistics. For something more international the World Data Bank has vast open datasets you could consider.

Or even currently https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

Decide what data you wish to do and ensure you keep good records of the group meetings, any discussions you have with clear details of who is doing what. The projects end with a presentation by the groups to the class.

AE1 will consist of an individual report which details the outcomes and contribution of their involvement in the project, as well as a continuous self-assessment though discussion.

As this is a reflection of activities write in the first person, unless you prefer third. Whatever you choose stick to it don’t switch around.

A good presentation will have been well rehearsed in advance.
