ii. What was the significance of the exhibitions to the architects and artists?
iii. How did the shows and exhibitions develop the construction industry and architecture?

New art is a common word that is used to refer to the international style of art especially that used in decorated art which was most popular between 1890 and 1910 (Harris 4). English uses the French name Art Nouveau. It was inspired by natural forms and structures and was considered a reaction to the 19th century academic art (Wolf 15). It embraces a wide range of fine art like painting, graphics, drawings and architecture as well. Architecture is basically the art and techniques of designing buildings.
The architecture and art gallery exhibitions that used to take place long ago had great significances in skill development of architects and artists during those days (Foster 67). They came together to showcase their discoveries and views about a matter of disagreement and professionals came together to brainstorm and came up with resolutions that changed other people who had different points of view over the matter. This resulted into a common growth and development of skills and techniques among the architects and artists. This shows and exhibitions of the ancient time brought together designers, planners and artists from different parts of the world. The resultant effect of this convergence was diversification of ideas as people shared a lot of their experiences and views over different matters of discussion. This kind of pulling together also had the effect of reducing the world of design since ideas and thought processes could easily flow from country to country. It also enabled young professionals to get a chance of engaging the experienced in the field and get to learn a number of things. The overall effect was a continual growth and development with great professionalism of the construction industry and architecture at large. The present day industry has undergone a lot of transformations and development to be such a stable one.
