Diversity through the lenses of history

We have explored diversity through the lenses of history, the humanities, and the natural and applied sciences. In this module, you will wrap up your draft of Final Project Part One with Milestone Four, and the social sciences lens is the last piece of the puzzle. Look back over the topics you chose to discuss in previous discussions, select one, and reexamine it now through the social sciences. In your initial post, address the following: Describe or summarize your previous topic. How has your understanding been affected by the social sciences lens? How does the social sciences lens support the lens you previously used?
Looking at the same topic through the lens of social science adds new insights into how immigration shapes the United States. The social sciences enable us to examine not just the historical implications but also current issues related to immigration policy, legislation and enforcement as well as how migration patterns have been affected by cultural trends such as globalization or other broad forces like climate change or economic opportunity. The social sciences lens is particularly useful when examining topics like immigration because it helps uncover underlying causes for why various migrations occur in certain places at certain times. It can provide insight into what motivates individuals to migrate away from their homes as well information about how they adapt once they arrive in a new country or region. This type of analysis provides a deeper understanding into why these shifts occur rather than simply noting them as facts on paper with no explanation behind them. Additionally, this perspective allows us to understand current debates around issues related to border security better since we have access to data that can help inform deliberations based on evidence rather than just opinion or anecdote Furthermore, looking at immigration through this lens sheds light onto potential impacts related changes may have on broader populations both long-term and short-term which leads us back full circle towards historical context which was my original focus in exploring this topic using other lenses (humanities and natural & applied sciences).

Sample Solution

I previously discussed immigration and how it has shaped the United States through history. Immigration affects every aspect of a society, from economics to culture and politics. Through immigration, people bring their own unique perspectives, backgrounds, and preferences that shape our communities in significant ways. As an example, I pointed out that immigrants are more likely to take risks in business than native-born Americans due to their experience in adapting to different countries and cultures.
