Establishing an effective Asian policy
Why was establishing an effective Asian policy much more difficult than creating a similar kind of stability in Europe? Analyze America's wartime China policy. Why did Chiang Kai-shek fall? Why was the United States unable to capitalize on the traditional antipathy between China and Russia?
America's wartime China policy was largely focused on supporting Chinese Nationalist leader Chiang Kai-shek against Japanese forces during World War II. The United States provided military aid and training to strengthen Chinese forces so they could better resist Japanese aggression. However, this strategy ultimately failed as Chiang's forces were no match for the well-equipped imperial army. In addition, his government became increasingly unpopular among the Chinese people who felt he had grown too powerful and corrupted by Western money.
The failure to capitalize on traditional antipathy between China and Russia stemmed from both countries' desire for economic development following World War II. Both nations sought greater autonomy through trade agreements rather than relying on military power or political alliances. In addition, America's refusal to recognize Mao Zedong as the legitimate leader of China meant any hope of cooperation between them was lost; instead tensions increased leading up to the Korean War.
In conclusion, establishing an effective Asian policy proved far more difficult than creating one in Europe due its immense size and diversity making unification harder attain . Furthermore , US policies towards wartime China ultimately failed because “Peanut General” Chiang Kai-shek fell out favor majority population & there wasn\\\\\\\'t enough insight into developing friendship/alliance Russia at time - these two factors contributed lack success when came attempting bring together disparate nations region under single banner .
