You have to come up with your event and answer the specific questions that I am putting here.
You are an independent Event Manager who has won a contract to plan and operate a charity fundraising
event for a prominent cancer charity (Swiss Cancer League). The Holly Hall Hotel is the venue that will host the
event.
The event will take place in a marquee within the five-acre gardens of the hotel, although rooms in the main
hotel will NOT be available. There will be 250 guests for the evening disco/dinner. The tickets for the event are
expected to be exclusive in price range (250 CHF) and the cost of the ticket will include an up-market buffet. A
free bar is available.
Government Ministers and show business/football celebrities will be in attendance, subsequently the event will
attract intense media interest and security for the event is paramount. There is no age restriction for the event
and it is expected that some guests will be bringing their young children.
The evening entertainment will include a DJ and a live stage act like “Bjorn Again” (Abba Tribute Band) who
will be using stage pyrotechnics. Fundraising activities will take place (such as an auction and raffle- lucky
draw) throughout the evening and may include impromptu performances by attending guests. The evening will
culminate with an outdoor fire work display.
As the Event Manager, it is your responsibility to manage this event from inception to conclusion and to ensure
that all legal and administrative procedures, rules and regulations are followed.
NOTE: You are to presume that Holly Hall Hotel is in a country of your choice.
