Carefully review the material on abuse of children and elderly persons in your textbook and in the additional readings. Then, prepare a handout on either violence against children or violence against older persons that can be distributed in physician’s offices, and public health centers.
In your handout be sure to address the following:
What is meant by violence against children (or older persons)?
What are the signs that a child (or older person) is being abused?
What are some of the causes of abuse of children or older persons?
What individuals do to prevent this abuse from occurring in their families and communities?
Support your handout by the use of at least one chart or graphic and five articles published in peer-reviewed journals in the past 7 years. Also, present a list of at least five resources in your community where people can find more information and seek help relating to this problem.
