Sample Solution

I chose to write this exemplar about Transformational Leadership. Transformational leadership is an important part of the Magnet Model and it emphasizes the leadership role nurses play in providing quality patient care. It requires nurses to be knowledgeable, innovative, self-directed and creative leaders with the ability to inspire others and cultivate positive change.

In my clinical experience I have seen how effective transformational leadership can contribute to improved patient outcomes. For example, during a recent shift I was presented with a complex case involving multiple diagnoses that required extensive coordination between multiple healthcare providers and departments. As the nurse in charge of the situation, I took on a transformational leadership role by utilizing my problem solving skills to develop an interdisciplinary plan of care for this patient. I also worked closely with all relevant stakeholders including physicians, nursing staff, dieticians etc to ensure everyone was working together towards our shared goal of delivering high-quality care tailored towards the individual needs of our patients.

Through this approach we were able to achieve excellent results as evidenced by improved outcome measures such as reduced hospital stays, fewer readmissions and higher levels of satisfaction amongst both patients and healthcare professionals alike! This exemplifies how essential effective transformational leadership is in fostering collaborative teamwork whilst promoting evidence-based practice within a multidisciplinary setting for optimum results!

It is fascinating to take note of that while there is a limited ability to recall lumps of data, how much pieces in every one of those lumps can change broadly (Miller, 1956).
