Federal Debt and Spending
1. Define budget deficits. Discuss the 2015 National Debt and how that equates to each American family. 2. Identify the elements for a balanced budget. Describe the tools used to implement and control a Federal budget. 3. Discuss discretionary spending, and how it has increased over the past 20 years. 4. Analyze "entitlement programs" and discuss who benefits from, and who pays for, these programs. 5. Identify which program drives the National Debt and explain how it will change federal spending over the next 10 years. 6. Provide examples of government waste and recommend a remedy for ending the discretion-abuse-control cycle of government borrowing and spending.
