Freedom, justice, and democracy

The American novelist James Baldwin wrote, “Words like freedom, justice, democracy are not common concepts; on the contrary, they are rare. People are not born knowing what these are. It takes enormous and, above all, individual effort to arrive at the respect for other people that these words imply.” Define the terms freedom, justice, and democracy. How did you derive the meaning for these words?
Justice is a concept of fairness based on ethical principles and is closely related to moral rightness. Justice includes both criminal justice (the fair distributional punishment for wrongs) as well as civil justice (fair accommodations in contracts between two parties). In its most basic form it involves equal treatment under law; although in more complex matters it may include consideration of different circumstances so that all parts are treated fairly according to what they deserve. Democracy is a system where decision making is made by majority rule while protecting minority rights and views. This system is characterized by fair and free elections with universal suffrage, freedom of speech and thought, transparency in government affairs among other things. Its core goal consists of providing citizens with representation in government through either direct or indirect voting processes depending on the jurisdiction’s policies; thus creating a platform where citizens can express themselves but still remain accountable due to their actions being open for public scrutiny if/when needed. I derived my understanding of these words from various sources such as educational materials like books/articles, conversations with friends & family members about current events related topics etc., as well as personal experience working within organizations that maintain certain standards regarding how personnel should conduct themselves when interacting with customers/clients etc.; thereby allowing me greater insight into how certain dynamics play out when trying to achieve balance between freedom vs responsibility on an individual level which eventually helps shape collective understanding around key concepts associated with these terms

Sample Solution

Freedom is the ability to live without restrictions or interference from another person or authority and to make decisions for oneself. It can mean having the power of choice, not being bound by societal conventions, or having physical autonomy. Freedom also implies an absence of inner constraints such as fear, guilt, self-doubt, shame, and other forms of psychological repression that prevent individuals from making their own choices.
