Freedom mean to me

During my 29 years in the Marine Corps, I had many opportunities to travel to various places around the world; each place with its own culture and customs that were very different from what I was used to back home. It gave me a chance to experience firsthand how different people can interpret their freedom differently than what we take for granted in this country. For example, there are countries where religious or political freedoms do not exist; however the citizens still make choices about how they live their lives despite these restrictions - proving that true freedom exists even if it does not manifest itself in traditional ways. To me now, freedom is more than just making decisions for oneself; it also encompasses having empathy for others who may be unable to express or experience freedom in all forms due to circumstances beyond their control - such as poverty or oppression by oppressive governments/regimes etcetera . Therefore when think about being free truly comprehending extent means being able recognize understand respect differences between us appreciate value each individual regardless race religion gender nationality background socio economic status any other factor separates us bring us together common humanity shared experiences love consideration compassion towards one another creating better world live prosperously freely future generations come .
