Source #2: The Guardian article – “Homelessness Is A Political Choice That Needs To Be Challenged”
This source discusses how current policies towards dealing with homelessness within western nations are often relying on punitive methods or criminalizing those without homes rather than looking at root causes such as lack of employment opportunities or mental health issues. It then goes on to explain why challenging state attitudes towards poverty is essential if we want real progress when it comes to reducing numbers of people living without basic necessities like shelter and food. This piece will be helpful for my project because it highlights existing strategies used by governments today while also offering ideas on how we can create more equitable societies free from homelessness.
Source #3: United Nations Human Settlements Programme – “The State Of The World’s Cities Report 2020/2021”
This source focuses on global urban trends related to population dynamics, migration patterns and inequality between cities throughout different countries worldwide. It then offers suggestions for addressing issues regarding inadequate infrastructure or services available in many cities due to limited resources allocated from national governments. This material will be important for my project since it provides a comprehensive understanding of the vast inequalities present in our society today while giving examples of potential solutions which I can use when creating artworks focused on bringing awareness about ways we can reduce homelessness globally
