Human behavior and social environment

Analysis Paper: Instances of Personal and Institutional Oppression (5 pages) Due 2/28/22   Complete each of the following steps. Using APA, cite at least three references from in-class readings (text and articles) to illustrate your understanding of the terms used below, and how to apply them:   Write about one incident in your life in which you were in a position of power/privilege and you were the perpetrator of discrimination or prejudice (even if you did not do so intentionally). How did your own cultural norms and lived experiences influence what you did or did not do or say? Using new knowledge that you have (from readings, classroom discussions, conversations with peers, etc.), what might you do differently today in a similar situation. Why? In what ways could you demonstrate or communicate empathy to the offended individual(s)? Write about one incident where you were the victim of discrimination or prejudice. How did your own cultural norms and lived experiences influence how you REACTED? What historical, social or political beliefs and values may have been contributing factors in this incident? Keeping in mind that there are many variations within the same cultural group, identify at least three (3) ways in which members of your own cultural group tend to communicate, both verbally and non-verbally. What meaning do you give to this type of communication style? (You may need to do additional research or talk to others in your cultural group to provide a strong answer to this question). Speak to someone from a cultural group different than your own. Develop a set of culturally sensitive questions to ask about their group’s communication style. List them here. What did you learn from this discussion that you did not realize/know before? In what ways have you applied some of the skills and concepts discussed in class and in your readings in your everyday interactions? If you have not applied them yet (even if you feel there is nothing more to do, we can all improve in our cross-cultural interactions), what do you envision doing before the end of the semester
