April 13, 2015: If your students have ever heard of IBM’s “Watson” supercomputer, they might be interested to read the article in CIO Magazine yesterday (as of this writing). IBM is planning to incorporate patient data from wearers of Apple’s new watch. (1) What will IBM do with that data? That is, what are the benefits of the data?
(2) Can you see any drawbacks of allowing Watson to process the data?
(3) What connections to other companies are there in this project? Why can’t Watson do it all “him”self?
