There are many ways of thinking about immortality. Besides various religious and parapsychological ideas,
immortality can be associated with achievements such as writing books, performing human services, or
otherwise contributing to society. Many believe that children are a form of immortality. Have students list three
to five ways in which their beliefs relate to this kind of immortality. How would they like to be remembered?
What are the values they would like to leave as a legacy through their achievements or otherwise? Would you
like to leave an ethical will and if so what would you include in it?
