1)Introduction to your case organisation, including key facts
a) about them
-how big it is
-how long they have been going
-their core business
-how many outlets they got
-how many people they employ
b)about their mission
c)about their vision (aspiration where they want to be in 5 years time)
What is their big idea(The new way they will be delivering their new mission and vision)For example starbucks new big idea could be to feed the homeless in a certain day of the week.
Describe it ,how it will help to achieve what the company wants to achieve.

2) Internal and External Analysis of your organisation’s operating environment, using an appropriate range of tools or frameworks according to their operating objective.
-Internal Environment -SWOT , what are our strengths and weaknesses that will help us to deliver this big idea or alternative preventing from doing it and what opportunities are they in the wider operating environment that will help us, what threats , what things we should be aware of and changes we ned to overcome if we are going to deliver this big idea. – which tools you use, if it’s a new product or you are trying to work into a completely new market you might need to do a Porters five forces analysis to show how competitive the market is , how easy or difficult is it going to be to deliver your new product to the market. – if your new idea involves some really specialist labour you might need a labour analysis , is it available or is it going to be a problem, Do you have to pay premium for it? It will affect costs.

  • SWOT OR PESTL don’t put it on the main body of our work, put it as an appendix and then in the main body of our work put a paragraph that says ‘’ I carried out this analysis…and say the appendix number’’ and then do the higher level of managerial analysis to say what are the key things, the key outcomes of the analysis.
  • ‘’ This organisation has got to take into account if they will deliver this big idea’’
  • What is that golden opportunity they will need to grab , otherwise the competition will.
  • Can you highlight as managers those things that you got to take into account?

3) State the performance objectives of the organisation, at the 3 levels explained.
Their objectives need to be smart !!! if they are not smart you cannot evaluate them!!
They need to be on 3 levels
-if you are thinking about your big idea , convert your big idea into small objectives.
So lets imagine you are at a restaurant chain and you need to start something new
1st Level : The Organisational Level you might say you want to deliver a certain amount of units, we need to open a few additional restaurants, make sure its time bound- say by when!!(By the end of next year, after 5 years etc)
2nd Level : The functional Level is what this team of people that you will put together have got to deliver. If you are going to achieve these organisational objectives , you think what the team has to deliver, so you need to set up those restaurants. So you breaking your objectives down into the next level.
3rd Level: The individual Level so what do the individual people or group of people in your team have to deliver if the department is going to deliver their objectives and altimately the organisation is going to achieve.

  • If we want profit from 50 restaurants to certain amount than the team got to open those restaurants and the individuals in this team need to get the design together , the staff in etc .
    4) Introduce your recruits
    She doesn’t want detailed job descriptions
    She doesn’t want names
    She doesn’t want CV’S
  • All she needs to know is that we are recruiting for example 3 project managers, 4 exeutive chefs,2 real estate specialists and an HR specialist

5)Give a detailed account of the training course you are proposing for your recruits giving details of the activities and clearly showing how they support the performance objectives you have outlined. I suggest you construct a table ( easiest in excel) with the following headings.
A)Date and Time
B)Details of the activity
C)Learning Objectives for the session
D)who will lead it
E)what resources will be needed
F)What learning theory or theories are evident session.

  • Session BY session basis is how your 10 recruits are going to spend their week.

They will all going to be trained together . (same room)
Day 1 – session 1 : 9-10:30
-Introduction to the companys history

  • listening to a presentation from the CEO , Learning objectves .
    -The learning theory that underpins it: – if it comes from person to person its social learning theory
    – Looking at handouts or presentation its cognitive learning theory.
  • What resources are going to be needed

6)Discussion of costs
break it down to A)Direct Costs( costs of putting on the training) , B) Indirect Costs (which other consequential costs)(fo od, travel,hotels,overtime, wastage).

7)Evaluation Plan
3 Possible frameworks you could use which evaluation plan you are going to use
-Ushaped diagram ( your objectives you take them across and you say how you are going to measure them)
-what reports are you gonna run ,who are you going to ask, how are you going to measure these things.
