Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development

  This week we covered Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development. Based on observation, he identified four stages that children go through as they mature. These stages are sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational. For this assignment, please choose one of Piaget’s four stages and describe it in depth, using your textbook, weblinks and your own research. How does that stage differ from the others? What developmental milestones are usually reached during the stage? Feel free to use examples from your own experience with children—either your own or other people’s.
