You will have a short paper where you will pick two theories and discuss how each can be applied to the juvenile justice system. I expect at least two pages, but you may go over those pages to ensure you cover your topic completely. For example, if I choose rational choice theory, I would suggest that deterrence should be the focus of the CJ system and that the CJ system should focus on risks and benefits. I would go on to discuss the details of the theory and concrete aspects of the system I would change and new things I would add. (You cannot use rational choice theory.) Be sure to include pages numbers referencing information from the book and other peer-reviewed sources. You MUST justify your claims using data and research and not solely your own opinion.
