Source #2: The Guardian article – “LGBTQ Equality Is Still A Global Struggle Despite Recent Progress” This source discusses how although there has been some progress when it comes to recognizing rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people around the world recently there is still far from true equality between them and heterosexuals due to lack of laws protecting them from discrimination or violence. It then goes on to explain why making sure all citizens are provided with equal access under law regardless of sexual orientation is essential if we want long-term change when it comes to achieving real social justice today. This piece will be helpful for my project because it highlights existing strategies used by governments today while also offering ideas on how we can create more equitable societies free from prejudice towards those who identify as being part of the LGBT+ community. Source #3: OutRight International – “The State Of Legal Recognition & Protection Of LGBTIQ People Worldwide” This source looks at international trends related to recognition and protection towards LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transsexual intersex and queer) individuals across countries worldwide. It then offers suggestions for addressing issues such as criminalization or adoption laws specific aimed at these particular groups while exploring what policies have proven successful elsewhere which could serve as models when trying tackle this type of inequality. This material will be important for my project since it provides detailed data about existing disparities throughout different nations while giving possible solutions which I can use when creating artworks focused on highlighting struggles faced by members within these communities globally

It outlines steps that need to be taken in order for equality to be achieved such as passing comprehensive federal non-discrimination laws or providing funding for anti-bullying campaigns. This report will be useful for my project as it gives insight into existing issues faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community along with potential solutions so that I can use this information when creating artwork which aims to bring awareness to this issue.
