Demonstrate competency of the research-based writing process by producing a literary research paper in MLA format. The literary research paper will explore a theme, character, or symbol in one of the following short story selections assigned in this course. Papers must be analytical or argumentative, not simply descriptive. Papers must cite the story’s original text as well as a minimum of three outside critical sources, which must come from an online database. Papers must use in-text citations that correspond to a works cited page in MLA format.
